"You get more joy out of the giving to others, and should put a good deal of thought into the happiness you are able to give."

— Eleanor Roosevelt

University of Maryland

Roosevelt Institution at Maryland

Welcome to The Roosevelt Institution at Maryland.

Our mission is to connect students' ideas to the political process through discussion, collaboration and published research.

We at the University of Maryland are producing public policy ideas everyday, through class discussion, research papers and extracurricular activities; however, many of these innovative ideas have yet to reach a wide audience.

The Roosevelt Institution aims to put these policy ideas and research into the hands of our leaders at both the local and national level.

Today, the University of Maryland has over 25,000 undergraduate students and almost 15,000 graduate students.  By combining the research, projects, field work, and expertise of these students and their faculty members, the components are already in place for a dynamic think tank.  Maryland has the resources, student population, prominent faculty, and fast-improving infrastructure to launch such an organization--and do it at the doorsteps of Annapolis and Washington, D.C.

Sign up, get involved; we look forward to seeing you.
